The Member Universities Professional Institute (MUPI) is a partnership between the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and the National Sponsored Programs Administrators Alliance (NSPAA). For 25 years MUPI has served as the primary professional development organization for HBCU sponsored research staff.
Attendees include sponsored research officers from public and private HBCUs, government relations staff from public HBCUs as well as chief research officers. Those in attendance learn how to work through the federal regulatory process, determine whether their school has the capacity to manage and/or partner with a larger school to manage government contracts, and become proficient in best practices to develop partnerships with other schools to seek non-HBCU grants.
