Lane McBride is a Managing Director and Senior Partner of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and is the leader of BCG’s Education, Employment, and Welfare team in North America. This team supports public, private, and social sector clients on topics spanning early K12, post-secondary education, workforce development, and human services.

Lane is a member of BCG’s North American leadership team for the Public Sector practice and the global leadership team for the Social Impact practice. He supports public and social sector clients, focusing on strategy, organizational effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, and change management.

Lane has worked across all levels of government, with particular depth in education and workforce issues at the US state and local level; he has worked with economic development, workforce, higher education, and/or PK-12 entities in 20 states. Lane has spoken and/or co-authored pieces on numerous topics, including education-employer partnerships, supporting off-track and disconnected young people, P-20 data, closing the COVID-era digital divide in the US, child care and early learning, education technology, and cost-effectiveness in education. Lane leads BCG’s global social impact partnership with Teach For All. He serves on the board of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

Lane is a native of Southwest Virginia and a graduate of the University of Virginia. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two daughters.
