The Center for Advancing Opportunity (CAO) will host an Education Research and Reform Working Group (WG) meeting in Washington, DC. It is an invitation only event to provide participants from the first CAO Summit held in Washington on February 5-6, 2018, and others, an opportunity to do a deeper dive into issues discussed in our Report and beyond. Topics for consideration include why teachers matter, schools and money, choice, and entrepreneurial ideas in education, to name a few.
The Center for Educational Opportunity (CEO) at Albany State University, which received a five-year $3 million dollar investment from CAO, will provide a presentation. CEO’s mission is to show how Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) use an interdisciplinary approach to promote research, innovation, and inquiry into issues relevant to K-12 education (and beyond) in order to improve products and services for people living in fragile communities in Dougherty County and Georgia in particular, and the United States in general.
