For over a decade, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) has hosted this capacity-building conference to engage its member-schools in research-driven conversations that lead to enhanced institutional practices and positive outcomes for our publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Beyond educating students, colleges and universities have to ensure faculty and administrators are equipped with the latest technology, changes in enrollment characteristics, and larger societal issues so that they can help students be more successful.
Additionally, TQRP hosts a Summer Institute designed to give TQRP fellows an insight into the latest educational theories and practices associated with exemplary practice. The training offered during this institute will provide fellows with the skills they need to successfully enter and remain in high-need schools in urban and rural communities, as well as become National Board Certified.
The ultimate goal for these events is for participants to take back to their schools with the latest ideas and strategies that will effectively create change on campus and strengthen the pipeline of graduates entering the workforce.
