Scholarship Overview
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and the Walmart Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding first-generation students attending one of TMCF 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or a Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Sixty-one (61) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship up to $6,200 for the 2022-2023 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be enrolled full-time as a freshman at a TMCF member-school during the 2022-2023 academic school year.
- Be a first-generation college student (first person in your immediate family to attend college)
- Current cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher from high school.
- Must have submitted a completed 2022-2023 FAFSA to your current or prospective College or University.
- Able to demonstrate a financial need.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
