Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and the Walmart Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 53 publicly-supported HBCUs, HBCCs, PBIs, medical and law schools. Fifty-seven (57) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship up to $7,000 for the 2024-2025 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a freshman at a TMCF member-school during the 2024-2025 academic school year.
  • Be a first-generation college student (first person in your immediate family to attend college).
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher from high school.
  • Must have the 2024-2025 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
