Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and the Coca-Cola Foundation are proud to offer mentor positions to outstanding students attending Alabama State, Albany State, Norfolk State, North Carolina Central, Prairie View A & M, Savannah State and Tuskegee University. Selected students will provide mentorship, guidance, and facilitate student engagement with the Coca-Cola Foundation first-generation scholars as they adjust to the academic and social environment on campus. The mentorship will pay a stipend of $500 ($250 at the end of each of the fall and spring semesters.)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a junior, senior, or graduate student at a TMCF member-school (listed below) during the 2021-2022 academic school year:
    • Alabama State University
    • Albany State University
    • Norfolk State University
    • North Carolina Central University
    • Prairie View A & M University
    • Savannah State University
    • Tuskegee University
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Able to dedicate time to meet monthly with assigned 2021-2022 Coca-Cola Foundation First-Generation Scholars.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must:

  • Provide a copy of the 2021-2022 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
  • Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term. This should include your Fall 2020 grades and cumulative GPA.
  • Upload a current resume.
  • Answer the following statement (Hirevue) (1.5 minutes words per question):
    • Briefly tell us about yourself, focusing on significant events that have shaped your character/personality.
    • How does the peer mentor position fit into your personal goals and how would you benefit from being a mentor?
