Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and Coca-Cola Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Alabama State, Albany State, Norfolk State, North Carolina Central, Prairie View A & M, Savannah State and Tuskegee University. Four (4) scholars will be selected to receive a fall scholarship up to $5,000 ($2,500 per semester) for the 2021-2022 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility requirements:

  • Be a senior in high school for the 2020-2021 academic year.
  • Be a first-generation college student.
  • Be enrolled full-time as a freshman at the listed TMCF member-school during the 2021-2022 academic school year:
    • Alabama State University
    • Albany State University
    • Norfolk State University
    • North Carolina Central University
    • Prairie View A & M University
    • Savannah State University
    • Tuskegee University
  • For Incoming Freshmen – Provide proof of acceptance into or enrollment at a TMCF member-schools as an incoming freshman during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must:

  • Provide a copy of the 2021-2022 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
  • For Incoming Freshmen – Provide the high school transcript (official or unofficial) from your most recently completed academic term. This should include your Fall 2020 grades and a cumulative GPA.
  • Please provide an email address for one recommender to complete a character reference form. They will be required to answer three questions regarding your character reference.
  • Answer the following statement (format essay) (Maximum of 250 words per question):
  • What would it mean to you and your community to be the first person in your family to earn a college degree?
