Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Forty-one (41) scholars will be selected to receive a fall need-based scholarship up to $10,000 ($5,000 per semester) for the 2024-2025 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at an HBCU during the 2024-2025 academic school year.
  • Must be enrolled and/or an active participant in a university band program; including but not limited to Marching Bands and auxiliary groups, Concert Bands and Ensembles.
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  • Must have the 2024-2025 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen, a legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551, or an International student with an I-20 student visa.
