The Thurgood Marshall College Fund, in a collaborative partnership with the HSC Foundation, is proud to offer the Inclusion Scholars Program. This unique scholarship program provides students with disabilities a $6,200 scholarship per year for 4 years provided the student meets GPA and conduct requirements. This scholarship is only offered to incoming freshmen students attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The award will be applied in both Fall and Spring semesters at $3,100 per semester.

A person with a disability is defined by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as an individual who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities and has a record of such impairment.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Current GPA of 2.75 or greater
  • Must be a incoming freshman student
  • Must attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
  • Must be registered with the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities at the university.

Requirements:

  • Complete high school transcript (unofficial or official)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: Academic and Character
  • Proof of Enrollment (Acceptance Letter)

    • What do you hope to gain from your college experience at an HBCU/PBI?
    • How will your contributions have an effective impact on the world?
