WHAT: McDonald’s returns to New Orleans for the 25th Essence Festival and is bringing its new Black & Positively Golden movement to help entrepreneurs make their dreams reality by providing opportunities where they can learn how to create generational wealth and contribute to economic development in their communities. McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden activities during Essence Festival are part of its ongoing commitment to shine a light on Black excellence through empowerment, entrepreneurship and education.
The (em)power-packed weekend comes to life with several inspiring events, including the signature McDonald’s Entrepreneurship Panel moderated by actress/businesswoman La La Anthony; energizing musical performances by R&B songstress Jazmine Sullivan and gospel powerhouse Kierra Sheard; McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden Late Night Party – the official Essence After Party – featuring actor Luke James, DJ B-Hen, DJ Rashida and more; and two, $10,000 Black & Positively Golden HBCU Scholarship presentations with actor/host Terrence J , who also serves as the National Ambassador for McDonald’s scholarship partner, Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
