Job Description

 The Assistant Vice President of Marketing (AVP of Marketing) will champion the TMCF brand developing a clear definition of the brand’s positioning, voice, and  look/feel.  S/he also owns co-branding and sub-branding strategies.   The AVP of Marketing will develop cross channel brand assets that can be leveraged by the marketing team in the development of channel marketing strategies for every major platform.  The AVP of Marketing is the brand gatekeeper ensuring all translations and articulations of the brand align with the defined brand standard and promise.  Finally, the AVP of Marketing will track overall brand engagement metrics to determine the brands relevance and resonance with targeted groups.

Responsibilities

The AVP of Marketing is expected to:

  • Develop annual integrated marketing and messaging strategies to amplify awareness of the organization with targeted groups and stakeholders
  • Develop the “About TMCF” presentation and template to ensure consistent storytelling with respect to the organization, impact, and partners
  • Oversee the strengthening and extension of the brand to build a broader audience and increase awareness of the organization within major channels and with targeted stakeholders through traditional and digital marketing campaigns, with particular attention paid to TMCF’s programs and student initiatives.
  • Manage people and program resources against marketing deliverables and work collaboratively with program teams, development, and partners to ensure proper integration and coordination of activities and content.
  • Serve as the creative lead and project manager for all marketing materials and creative assets, and ensure
  • TMCF’s brand standards are upheld.
  • Manage website content and creative design to help build TMCF’s reputation and recognition and amplify the organization’s impact.
  • Lead marketing efforts in campaign development, social media presence, paid media, thought leadership, content development, revenue enablement, and event presence.
  • Identify and understand current and future target markets, audience, and competitive landscape.
  • Regularly compile and analyze performance data to develop metrics that support decision-making for both resource allocation and subsequent campaigns and activities.
  • Manage related consultants and vendor relationships in collaboration with other members of the marketing team to support duties and responsibilities.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of various cloud-based platforms and technologies spanning content delivery, e-mail campaigns, management, and measurement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies And Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in marketing with demonstrated success, preferably in the education not-for-profit or association sector
  • MBA in or a minimum of 8 years of demonstrated brand marketing experience and training
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing and communications activities
  • Results-oriented, strategic, detail-oriented, highly organized, and excellent follow-through
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing strict deadlines
  • Creative and meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high-quality work in a dynamic environment
  • Experience developing & managing multiple online marketing strategies and campaigns using a variety of different software platforms and reporting tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to self-prioritize workload, manage budgets, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to creatively approach challenges and projects and to work both independently and within a team effectively for the best possible outcome
  • Strategic yet creative thinker, self-starter, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
