Job Description

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is the nation’s largest organization exclusively representing the black college community. TMCF member-schools include the publicly supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and several Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs).

 

The Scholarships Manager will operate on the three tactical pillars: Scholarship Development, Scholarship Implementation, and Scholarship Reporting and Evaluation. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Scholarships, this position will oversee the project management of scholarships that include planning, organizing, leading, processing, and reporting on scholarship programs as outlined in the partner agreement. Additionally, they will perform a variety of tasks and rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Scholarships Leadership Team with day-to-day scholarship administrations.
  • Executes strategic plans for launching scholarships, manage timelines, and track status of project deliverables.
  • Manage day-to-day scholarship administration- application through student tracking, student communication via Scholarship Management Platform.
  • Responsible for scholarship monitoring to include evaluations, collecting and analyzing data, documenting results, and identifying and discussing implications.
  • Applies strategic-thinking, creativity, and hands-on approaches to successfully execute on high impact ideas.
  • Continuously ideates on scholarship opportunities to remain within contractual bounds while also ensuring the relevancy of the scholarship for the most beneficial and impactful experience and outcome for students.
  • Participates and collaborates in webinars, in-person sessions/workshops, educates students on the application process to ensure application completion.
  • Maintain accurate student files and up to date information on school and program participants, while providing detailed information for reporting and evaluation purposes.
  • Participates in special events and projects across other TMCF programs and divisions.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Higher Education.
  • Background in working with HBCUs and PBIs
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Competencies and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience working in project management or similar role required.
  • Advanced computer skills and technology experience, including with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills that demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.

 

    Special Demands

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job demands.
  • Travel required: 40% travel may be local, overnight, during the business day, or weekend.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee data, business activities, key information, etc.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds.

  • Benefits:  Health, Dental, FSA, 403(b), up to 10% Bonus Potential
