Thurgood Marshall College Fund Statement On The Election Results For The 115th United States Congress

WASHINGTON, DC – November 9, 2016 – “The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) congratulates the newly elected and re-elected members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives. As a non-partisan higher education non-profit organization advocating for the nation’s publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), we will continue our work with the 115th Congress in a bi-partisan manner to proactively take the lead on introducing public policy recommendations and solutions on tough issues in higher education. We remain committed to building alliances with all members of Congress that support HBCUs to influence public policy that will secure resources and programs that support HBCUs, their students and faculty. We also encourage all members to consider joining their colleagues in the Bi-Partisan Congressional HBCU Caucus. We are looking forward to a new opportunity to expand HBCU public policy and budgetary support with the 115th Congress.” Johnny C. Taylor Jr., TMCF President & CEO.
