Washington, DC, August 4, 2020—Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) will convene the largest, most exclusive, talent and professional development recruiting conference for students attending publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs) at the award-winning 20th Annual Leadership Institute presented by longtime supporter of HBCUs and TMCF, Wells Fargo. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event will take place virtually this year.
Starting October 13th, the five-day conference will offer development and leadership sessions and networking opportunities for student participants taught by highly-skilled corporate leaders from partnering organizations. Students will attend sessions that include financial literacy, personal branding, and 21st Century skill development. A signature component to Leadership Institute is the recruitment fair. After participating in a host of sessions during the week, the students will have an opportunity to put their refined skills to the test. Recruiters and executives, some of which are TMCF Leadership Alumni, can connect directly with the hand-selected students TMCF has identified as the best of the best. In addition to recruitment partners like Wells Fargo, over 70 major companies from all sectors, government agencies, and graduate schools will meet virtually with students to identify top talent and offer jobs, internships, and continuing education opportunities.
