Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Ally are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate seniors attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs) with plans to attend an accredited law school in the United States. Two (2) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship up to $20,000 per academic year for three (3) years starting with the 2022-2023 (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Be enrolled full-time as a graduating undergraduate senior at a TMCF member-school during the 2021-2022 academic school year.

OR

  • Be alumni of a TMCF member-school
  • Accepted to a U.S. accredited law school for the 2022-2023 academic year.
  • Be an African American or Black.
  • Participate in the Ally Legal Department Mentor and Professional Development Program webinars for the duration of the multi-year scholarship.
  • Current/Final cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Submitted the 2022-2023 FAFSA to your selected university/college.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

    • What makes you interested in the legal profession, and how has your personal experience prepared you for a career in law?
  • Submit professional or graduation headshot
  • Submit resume
