Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and Cheniere are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of the four selected Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Fifteen (15) scholars will be selected to receive a fall need-based scholarship up to $12,000 for 2022-2023 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Be enrolled full-time as a junior or senior at the schools listed below during the 2022-2023 academic school year.
    • Howard University
    • Prairie View A&M University
    • Southern University
    • Texas Southern University
  • Open to designated majors:
    • Business
    • Engineering
    • Environmental Sciences
    • Government Affairs
    • Human Resources
    • Pre-Law
    • Social Sciences
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher.
  • Submitted the 2022-2023 FAFSA to your  selected university/college.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must: 

  • Answer the following statement (Video) (Maximum of 1 min per question): 
    • Share three short or long-term goals that are important for you to achieve, and how do you plan to achieve them? These could be academic, financial, personal, professional, etc. In addition, is there anything else you would like us to know?
