Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and Coach Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Eighty (80) scholars will be selected to receive a fall need-based scholarship up to $5,000 for 2022-2023 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior at a HBCU or university during the 2022-2023 academic school year.
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Submitted the 2022-2023 FAFSA to your  selected university/college.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must: 

  • Answer the following statement (Video) (Maximum of 1 minute per question): 
    The Coach brand is defined by the ‘Courage to Be Real.’ When we have the  courage to show up as ourselves, we inspire others to do the same and unleash new ideas. Tell us about a time when you demonstrated the ‘Courage to Be Real’  and what was the result.
