Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and CrowdStrike are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Eight (8) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship up to $5,000 ($2,500 per semester ) for the 2021-2022 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at a TMCF member-school during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • For Incoming Freshman – Provide proof of acceptance into or enrollment at a TMCF member-schools as an incoming freshman during the 2021- 2022 academic school year.
  • Open to the following majors:
    • Marketing/Web design
    • Communications
    • Business Administration
    • Sales
    • Human Resources
    • Psychology
    • Cybersecurity
    • Computer Science
    • Engineering
    • International Relations
    • Computer Engineer
    • Data Science
    • Math
    • Statistics
    • English
    • Political Science
    • Forensics
    • IT
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need. Must be pell grant eligible.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must:

  • Provide a copy of the 2021-2022 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
  • Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term-this should include your end of (Fall / 2020-2021) grades and cumulative GPA.
  • For Incoming Freshman – Provide the high school transcript (official or unofficial) from your most recently completed academic term. This should include your (Fall/ 2020-2021) and a cumulative GPA.
  • Please provide an email address for one recommender to complete a character reference form. They will be required to answer three questions regarding your character reference.
  • Answer the following questions:
    • Essay Questions (Maximum of 250 words per question)
      • Tell us about your current financial situation. Why is it important that you receive this funding? (What will help you achieve professional and educational goals)
    • HireVue Questions
      • Tell me about a time you went over and above to get a job done.
      • If we were to ask your friends and family what are your top 3 strengths, what would they tell us?
