Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and T-Mobile are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of the listed publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Two (2) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship up to $50,000 for 2021-2022 academic school year which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at a school listed below during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • For Incoming Freshman – Provide proof of acceptance into or enrollment at a school listed below as an incoming freshman during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • Must attend one of the the following schools during the 2021-2020 academic year:
    • Clark Atlanta University
    • Florida A&M University
    • Hampton University
    • Howard University
    • Norfolk State University
    • North Carolina A&T University
    • North Carolina Central University
    • Spelman University
    • Tuskegee University
    • Virginia State University
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Open to the following majors:
    • Business
    • Computer Science
    • Engineering
    • Finance
    • Human Resources
    • IT
    • Liberal arts
    • Marketing
  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must:

  • Provide a copy of the 2021-2022 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
  • Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term-this should include your end of Fall/ 2020-2021 grades and cumulative GPA.
  • For Incoming Freshman – Provide the high school transcript (official or unofficial) from your most recently completed academic term. This should include your Fall/ 2020-2021 and a cumulative GPA.
  • Please provide an email address for one recommender to complete a character reference form. They will be required to answer three questions regarding your character reference.
  • Answer the following question (Hirevue) (1-2 mins):
