Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and T-Mobile are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Twenty-eight (28) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship of up to $7,500 for the 2021- 2022 academic school year. Selected students must be in good academic standing, but at risk of not returning or graduating from college due to an outstanding financial need, and/or emergency situation that leads to a financial aid crisis.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior and graduate at a TMCF member-school during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • For Incoming Freshman – Provide proof of acceptance into or enrollment at a school listed below as an incoming freshman during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • Current cumulative grade point average:
    • Undergraduate 3.0 or higher
    • Graduate 3.75 or higher
  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must:

  • Provide a copy of the 2021-2022 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
  • Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term-this should include your end of Fall/ 2020-2021 grades and cumulative GPA.
  • For Incoming Freshman – Provide the high school transcript (official or unofficial) from your most recently completed academic term. This should include your Fall/ 2020-2021 and a cumulative GPA.
  • Please provide an email address for one recommender to complete a character reference form. They will be required to answer three questions regarding your character reference.
  • Answer the following question (HireVue) (1-2 minutes):
    • T-Mobile believes that we are unstoppable together. How will earning your degree help you and your community be unstoppable?
