Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and Truist are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Fifty- Five (55) scholars will be selected to receive a gap scholarship of $500- $6,350 for the 2021-2022 academic school year. Selected students must be in good academic standing, but at risk of not returning or graduating from college due to an outstanding financial need, and/or emergency situation that leads to a financial aid crisis.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a junior or senior at one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) below during the 2021-2022 academic school year:

  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  • Have an unpaid school account balance of between $500- $6,350.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
