What does it mean for a career center to participate in the program?

HBCU Career centers will receive support in the form of job seeker curriculum for students, training for career center staff, funding for program implementation, and resources to engage students and encourage program completion.

When will the program launch?

The program will launch on December 2, 2020, with a cohort of four HBCUs. We will then expand to 20 HBCUs in Spring 2021, before opening the program to all HBCUs in Fall 2021.

Can private HBCUs participate in the program?

Yes, the program is open to both public and private HBCUs.

Are recent graduates eligible to participate in the program?

Yes, recent graduates are eligible to participate as long as they work through their alma mater’s career center.

Is there a GPA requirement?

No, there is no GPA requirement, and the program is open to all students and recent graduates of participating HBCUs. If your HBCU is currently not participating, you can always access free career resources at grow.google.
