TMCF is proud to offer a variety of programs, networking and recruitment opportunities, conferences and professional development for students. Our career preparation, global studies and entrepreneurship programs are focused towards students enrolled in college. While our educational programs serve both current college students and recent graduates pursuing the teaching profession, as well as high school students and families looking for a quality K-12 education.

Corporate Scholar Programs

Our TMCF Corporate Scholar Programs promote career readiness through scholarships, leadership development, boot camps, and immersive experiences for hand-selected student leaders attending HBCUs and PBIs.


These highly competitive programs leverage the knowledge, experience, and network of top employers from around the country and TMCF staff to foster a collaborative learning community. Students develop key leadership skills, nurture their originality and receive hands-on experience that will prepare them to be career ready as  they join the workforce.

Internship Program

The TMCF Internship Program is an integral part of a students’ education. It helps students successfully apply classroom concepts to real-world challenges. With every internship experience, students have an opportunity to grow both  personally and professionally  while making meaningful contributions to their employer.


Through strategic partnerships with major companies and government agencies TMCF offers 10-12 week paid internships that usually take place during the summer between the months of June and August. Interns work in various locations across the United States in state-of-the-art facilities conducting research and/or contributing to the overall organizational enterprise. In addition, interns work on challenging projects and participate in career readiness workshops and webinars.

Teacher Quality & Retention Program

The Teacher Quality and Retention Program (TQRP) provides high-caliber training and mentoring to aspiring, pre-service and new teachers. TQRP offers an intense ten-day Summer Institute that convenes all three individual areas of focus (HBCU Males, STEM and New Teachers) to develop sound pedagogy, discuss and demonstrate research-based educational practices, and analyze current educational policy – all with the goal of developing the skills of future
teacher leaders.

Leadership Institute

The Leadership Institute is an exciting four-day leadership development conference for HBCU and PBI students which offers them the opportunity to develop and practice their leadership skills in areas that will contribute to the success of their personal, academic, and professional goals through a variety of interactive sessions and simulations with executives from Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. The conference culminates with a recruitment fair with nearly 100 recruiters exposing students to employers where they compete for internships, full-time jobs, and continuing education opportunities.


The Leadership also offers select students an opportunity to participate in corporate immersion experiences and specialized training sessions prior to the start of the conference.

Fleischer Scholars Program

The TMCF Fleischer HBCU Scholars Program provides high-achieving juniors, who will be graduating from high school in 2021, the opportunity to experience college life, entrepreneurship, and business during a week-long residential program. The TMCF Fleischer HBCU Scholars Program is tailored to students from underserved and underrepresented communities. The goal of the program is to provide informational and financial resources to help students set a clear path to college degree attainment while helping to develop 21st-century skills that foster career success.

TMCF | Walmart Foundation First-Generation Mentorship Program

TMCF and the Walmart Foundation, through the Walmart First-Generation Scholars Mentorship Program, offer mentor positions to outstanding students attending one of the publicly-supported HBCUs and PBIs. Selected students will provide mentorship, guidance and facilitate student engagement with the Walmart Foundation first-generation scholars, as they adjust to the academic and social environment on TMCF member-school campuses.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship

The TMCF Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Program seeks to identify entrepreneurial talent and train future innovators from HBCUs and PBIs in skills needed to generate economic success through their own business or within today’s knowledge driven organizations. The program is a blend of two worlds. It is a place where technology meets business acumen connecting “techie” students with “business-minded” students who are aspiring entrepreneurs.  An important distinction in the program is that it takes a holistic approach to infusing education and professional development in innovation & entrepreneurship.
